Hello Neighbor,
The City of Halfway s requesting assistance in public safety. We have seen an increased amount of parking in Yellow “no parking zones” or “safety corridors”. While we acknowledge this is not an obligation you as a business owner on Main Street carry, we humbly ask for your help in reminding individuals that those areas are marked as a Yellow “no parking zone” as a matter of public safety. Having vehicles consistently parked in those spaces reduces visibility for pedestrians and other drivers. Please help us keep our neighbors and children safe. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
Mayor Nora Aspy, City Council, and City Staff
(Disclosure: ODOT is expected to be working on installing or repairing ADA Compliant ramps and curbs along Main Street and East Record this year. There may be disruptions in marked “no parking zones”. However public safety is our utmost concern. “No parking zones” will be visibly marked as available.)
Concerned citizens aproached ODOT regarding removal of some trees along Main Street during their ADA sidewalk construction. ODOT performed their due diligence and took into account the citizens concerns. After much research ODOT was able to save one of the three trees of concern. The Tree at the Post Office corner will be removed for this project and the placard will be placed in the sidewalk for permanent display.
There will be a $4.00 raise to All Water Accounts within the City of Halfway beginning October1, 2025. It will show on the bill which will be mailed on November 3, 2025 and all bills after that date.
